A Call to Parents and Community
The West Windsor Plainsboro Dance Company offers parents and members of the community the opportunity to be involved in numerous aspects of the dance company's programs. We are always in need of volunteers who want to become a part of the WWPDC family and assist us in numerous ways throughout the year.
Fundraising Committee
Chairperson: Jeanne Richman
Volunteers are needed to assist chairperson in generating ideas for fundraising events, planning, and coordinating these ideas. The WWPDC is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) corporation and all donations whether cash or the like is tax deductible.
Costume Committee
Chairperson: Amy DeCesare, née Flood
Volunteers are needed to assist the costume committee chairperson in regard to sewing related and non-sewing related work. Help is needed to repair costumes and headpieces, clean iron or steam costumes as needed and help with fitting of costumes. Two volunteers are also needed to ensure dancers hang up their costumes and related headpieces, enforce the "no eating" rule in costume, help with hair, makeup and keep dancers in their designated areas.
Backstage Committee
Chairperson: Roni WIlityer
Volunteers are needed during production week of the WWPDC performances and the job duties available are to assist in loading and unloading of all costumes, props, scenery and wood frame. We also need help with the set up and striking of props during the performances. At least two volunteers are needed backstage to assist dancers with quick changes and to keep dancers in designated areas.
Set Design Committee
Chairperson: Patricia Shargo
Volunteers are needed who are artistically inclined to assist the chairperson in purchasing of supplies, painting of sets or props. Students and adults are welcome - must be able to follow directions and color within the lines. Artistic ability a plus but not a requirement.
Advertising Committee
Chairperson: OPEN
Volunteers are needed to assist chairperson with advertising campaigns to promote the WWPDC. Computer and graphic artwork knowledge is helpful. Committee will meet to discuss ideas to promote, plan and institute the ideas.
Also needed is someone with an aptitude for website photography and newspaper articles to take pictures of the WWPDC dancers.
Community Service Committee
Chairperson: Roni Wilityer
Volunteers are needed to assist chairperson in promoting the WWPDC to the surrounding communities. Committee will meet to discuss plans to generate interest in the WWPDC and come up with places for the WWPDC to perform. (i.e.: festivals, fundraiser events, and senior citizens centers)
Website Committee
Chairperson: Rob Henry
Volunteers will assist chairperson in updating and proofing "thedancecorner.org" website. Knowledge of web design and graphics is helpful.
