What is Pilates?

The Pilates Method was developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the early Twentieth Century. Pilates has long been a part of the exercise regimen of dancers, but it has only been in the past decade or so that Pilates has become a popular workout for everyone.

The Method Pilates, utilizes and benefits all of the components of fitness. It will increase muscular strength and endurance, as well as flexibility. It has some elements of cardiovascular training because as you learn to breathe correctly, the blood flows more efficiently to the muscles.

Pilates training sessions also create better coordination, balance, and agility.
